Golf Launchpad Tour combines Electric-Spin’s ultra realistic golf simulation technology, with XTVReady™ technology from NDS to create the ultimate virtual golf experience. XTVReady is a software module embedded within the world’s leading DVR set-top boxes to enable access to third party peripheral devices, such as the Golf Launchpad Tour, via the USB port on set-top boxes. Until now, golf on a set-top box has been a limited 2-D experience, but with the Golf Launchpad/XTV Experience it becomes an immersive, video enhanced realistic golf experience.
This product will enhance the overall user experience and change the way golfers and gamers interact with their televisions. While watching a televised golf event, consumers will soon be able to use the Golf
Launchpad/XTV™ Experience to play and compete, with their own clubs, on the same course and at the same time as the pros.

Golf Launchpad Tour measures user’s swings (clubhead speed, path and angle) and translates it into information that EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour software translates on-screen with breathtaking realism and accuracy. Now, with a processor that's four-times faster than the original, gameplay with the Golf Launchpad Tour is truly outstanding. Not only is the Tiger Woods PGA Tour experience enhanced with the Golf Launchpad Tour, but so is the swing analyzer, with its increased accuracy and 3D shot visualization.

A regulation Surlyn golf-ball on a lightweight, flexible tether connected
to a double-ball-bearing pivot arrangement to reproduce the mechanical
dynamics of free-ball impact for accurate feel and impact-sound
(user replaceable).

Optical sensors and digital signal processing ircuitry to measure the clubs’
motion through impact, including such parameters such as clubspeed,
club face-angle and club-path, and translate these data into simulated
ball flight in the game.

LPDR is a sophisticated software driving range simulator for
Golf Launchpad. LPDR provides swing and shot analysis, featuring
aircraft style instrumentation, shot speed and angle, as well as ball
launch data and trajectory graphs.

How it works
Golf Launchpad's tethered ball has been designed to reproduce the impact-physics of a free ball to perfection. Utilizing a flexible tether (which permits the ball to spin) and a precisely calibrated pivot, Golf Launchpad's ball is designed to impart the same forces to the club as a free ball. This means that you feel and hear the thwack of your irons and the ping of your woods just as you would on the fairway. We call this TruFeel™ and it is the subject of several patent applications. Optical sensors embedded deep under the turf track your club over the sensor grid during the critical moment of impact, measuring vast quantities of data off your club, such as angle, velocity, acceleration and path. Electric~Spin’s state-of-the-art digital signal processing technology embedded in Golf Launchpad converts the mountains of raw data into pinpoint accuracy.
